Cruising Canyon Country: Dead Horse Point to Moab
![]() |
Take a scenic ride through one of Utah’s most iconic landscapes. This dash-cam video takes you on a real-time drive through Dead Horse Point State Park, located on a dramatic plateau perched thousands of feet above the Colorado River. While the in-vehicle views might seem tame compared to the park’s jaw-dropping overlooks, this drive still offers a unique sense of place - and a taste of the solitude and scale that define canyon country.
But the real visual treat comes on the return drive to Moab. Follow along as we descend from the mesa on SR-313 to Highway 191, cruising past panoramic viewpoints of the La Sal Mountains, Monitor and Merrimac Buttes, and the towering formations of Seven Mile Canyon and Moab Canyon. It’s an extremely scenic stretch of road - so sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!
Note that I rendered this video at 2X normal speed (4X for the ride back to Moab), so make sure to observe local speed limits. If you don’t get vertigo you can speed up the YouTube version by 2X as well.
