Here are a few favorite photos from a springtime camping trip to the Cedar Mesa area, including Comb Ridge, Valley of the Gods, and Road Canyon - those rare places that feel like they are whispering secrets as you wander through them. This entire area has been a special place for me, ever since my first visit to Utah. The silence is loud in all the right ways, the sun feels like it’s cleansing your soul, and the scent of sagebrush and sun-warmed sand clings to everything - in the best way. This time, the desert was bursting with life - wildflowers in bloom, bees buzzing, and dashes of color tucked unexpectedly into sculpted folds of sandstone. Since first camping here in 1986 I have carried experiences like this with me, even now.
